Questions:
1. Gen. Agosto Pinochet WAS AT ONE TIME detained in England for his alleged crimes against humanity , castigated and hounded internationally by the media and the cacaphony of cries from Liberal governments in Europe, The main charge was the execution of approximately 4,000 Chilean citizens. He assumed and kept control of Chile for 17 years, but relinquished it to hold elections and return to an elected government.
Fidel Castro took control of Cuba in 1959, and according to the Black Book of Communism (p. 664), beteen 15,000 and 17,000 Cubans were executed, while Fidel has held onto power through force of arms for more than 48 years, yet there are no such demands by the world's liberals for his arrest so that he could be held accountable for his crimes against the Cuban people.
Would someone tell me the difference btween the alleged crimes by Gen. Agosto Pinochet and self-proclaimed ruler in Havana?
Score: 17,000 executed by Fidel Castro. 4,000 executed by Gen. Agosto Pinochet.
Score: 48 years as Dictator by Fidel Castro. 17 years as Dictator by Gen. A. Pinochet.
Score: 2 Million Cubans went into voluntary exile. A few thousand (at most) Chilenos went into voluntary exile.
Score: Over 100,000 political prisoners in Cuba in 48 years. Several thousands of political prisoners in Chile in 17 years.
Obviously Liberals have a social conscience only when more conservative voices have taken over the reins of power.

LIBERAL THINKING EXPLAINED

I found a Letter to the Editor in a newspaper that almost blew my mind as a perfect example of the convoluted thinking of a Liberal mind. My answer is below, intermixed with those convoluted liberal thoughts. Please read only the black type, before re-reading it with my comments in red below.

(The writer begins:)I have just read that Saddam Hussein is dead. As Gary Cooper would say, “Yep!” Hung by the neck until dead – isn’t that the phrase they always use on television? And also in the old western pulp fiction books. And I feel an overwhelming sense of sadness. Poor baby. Everybody has to start by saying that it isn’t bad that Saddam Hussein is dead – he was an evil man. Yep, executed about 300,000 Iraqis, men, women and children. But what is evil? Whoops? Guess 300,000 dead is not enough. It is a religious denunciation, a way to set a person apart from humanity. Guess I was wrong. I thought by killing more than 300,000 people he set himself apart from humanity. We need to do this I suppose. Yep. And if we say that Saddam Hussein is an evil man, don’t we then have to say that other men are good? A rhetorical question, so I guess this guy's just trying to reason things out. Watch out, Plato. Who is good I wonder? Whoops, here we go Socrates. Where do we find these men of goodness? Obviously the writer's got an eyesight problem? He needs to carry a lamp! To say Saddam Hussein was evil is too easy, it lets us off the hook. Sound reasoning for a Liberal pumpkin-head, isn’t it? Saddam Hussein was a cruel man, a selfish man, a desperate man, a sad man. Hmmm, an evil man too, with 300,000 victims.

He was a bully I think. Well, it might be a good habit for the writer—to think. He was a man who never knew happiness I think. Mmmm, a continuous line of reasoning, perhaps a record for this guy. He rationalized his actions I’m sure by saying that he did what had to be done. Yep, like dropping people into wood chopping machines. He called his own enemies evil, and tortured them completely. Yep. Saddam Hussein was all too human. As human as you can get while killing 300,000 people! He walked among us. Perhaps lurked would be a better word. In this moment of spiritual limbo between Christmas and the start of a new year I feel an overwhelming sense of sadness. Put your head upon my shoulder…and weep, baby.

I feel sadness because we repaid cruelty with cruelty. Yep. We did it because we allowed an emotionally disturbed man to lead us, to direct our actions. Now, this is mental masturbation. We destroyed Saddam Hussein’s life. Nope, they, not we, hung the s.o.b. This was perhaps justified. Mental masturbation #2. Do we destroy every cruel man’s life? Well, if anyone beats his horse, we should, don’t you think? Is it our duty to destroy every cruel man’s life? What’s his quota before we do, 500,000. Still, it was not less than he deserved. Imagine, a logical thought! Take away his livelihood. Yyyyep. What will we do to the war profiteers who had a hand in murdering our own children for a few dollars? An answer to over-population, perhaps? Will we be as angry, as cruel? Better call your broker to sell your Raytheon stock.

We killed his children while he was still alive. Poor kids, they already had scores of notches on their guns, but okay, it was mean to kill them before he was killed; it would have been more considerate to wait until he was hung. We hunted them down like animals and slaughtered them without dignity. Jeeez, Gary, say “Yep” again. As a father I will say no human deserves this. Well, I hope your breeding attempts were better than his. Once we have reached this level of cruelty it has gone beyond repayment. Reparations to Saddam, you mean? It has become something visceral, something deep within our souls that we usually try to hide, even from ourselves. Imagine how the guy who knotted the noose feels now. But we felt no shame. Not yet, but give us some time. We celebrated this cruelty, cheered it and broadcast it to the world. No, we didn’t. The Liberal media did that. Who gave us this lisence (sp) I wonder? I thought the Iraqis hung him, not us. Now that this Pandora’s box is open, will we be able to close it? Well, if you’re calling justice a Pandora’s box, let’s hope not. Let’s try leaving it open another month or two.

Now, doesn’t this Liberal’s letter make you want to regurgitate?
